And now we start the business of sorting through all of the entries to this year’s fellowship. We received close to 100 submissions. Considering we’re a small writing space in Santa Monica and not some large, well-known, national organization, I think 100 entries is quite a lot. I wish wish wish we could give everyone a free place at the table. Writing is such a solitary sport, it’s wonderful to have a place like theOffice to come to everyday. But alas, bills must be paid.

We’ll be announcing the winner at the end of the month. Huge thanks to everyone of you who submitted and a special nod of gratitude to those of you who spread the word to your friends. Keep up the writing. You are all brilliant. Francis Bacon said it best:

A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.
