These three prolific writers (and members here at theOffice) will serve as judges for this year’s fellowship competition. The deadline to enter is just over a week away. They will read the top entries and decide who gets the prize!
Patrick Burleigh

Patrick co-wrote Eternals (2021) with Chloé Zhao and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (2021). He was chosen for the Marvel Studios’ Writers Program in 2016. If he weren’t striking, he’d currently be writing tentpoles for Paramount and Sony. His essays have appeared in New York Magazine and Men’s Health.
Elisabeth Bentley

Lizzy produced the film, A Hidden Life (2019) premiering in competition at Cannes and earning her a Spirit Awards Best Feature nomination. Her 2010 documentary Beautiful Darling won Best Documentary at Chicago Film Festival and she was nominated for a WGA Award for the screenplay for Nanking (2008). Her films have screened at the Berlinale, Sundance, MoMA, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Telluride and Toronto.
Sam Lubell

Sam has written eight books about architecture, including California Captured and two travel guides to mid-century modern architecture in the USA, all from Phaidon. He is the Editor at Large of Metropolis Magazine, contributing editor at The Architect’s Newspaper and writes for the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Atlantic, Architectural Record, Architectural Review, and other publications.
