“Star Wars: Rogue One” is coming out tomorrow. I just wanted to throw a shout out to one of our writer’s at theOffice, Chris Weitz, as I’m very excited to see the movie!

With the upcoming release of “Star Wars: Rogue One,” I decided to tribute this week’s “In-Depth” article to George Lucas. Not only is he the man responsible for “Star Wars,” but he also created “Indiana Jones” and “American Graffiti.”

In-Depth Look: George Lucas

Sometimes, writer’s create worlds, characters, and stories that are bigger than themselves. They create a life of their own, which is crazy to think about. When that time comes, a really tough decision has to be made. Kill it or let it live on without you. I think it’s one of the toughest choices as a creator. I wouldn’t say there’s a right or wrong decision to make, and there’s no way to truly know until certain events unfold.

It seems like Lucas has made a wonderful decision to let people enjoy the “Star Wars” universe in new and interesting ways.I imagine it’s a bit like watching your child go off to college. “Star Wars” has created a life of it’s own. There are communities built around it, and people look to the stories for inspiration and entertainment. The stories are a source of great joy for people world-wide. It seems like he completely understands the position he’s in, and wants to let the world enjoy what he’s created to the fullest, even if it means he’s no longer involved. I can’t wait to see what happens with the new stories to be told.
