Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, KBE, was an English film director, producer, and writer, and at times referred to as “The Master of Suspense.” He pioneered many elements of the suspense and psychological thriller genres.
He certainly had an impact on his audiences, and believed that if a movie was truly good, you could turn the sound off and have a clear idea of what was happening. The quote above makes me think about some of the greatest moments in film. Does the moment mean anything without a good buildup?
Some of his biggest hits were, “Psycho,” “The Birds,” “Vertigo,” and “Rear Window.” Definitely worth a watch if you want to get into some scary movies this month.
