When I’m not running the ship here at theOffice, I’m pouring everything I’ve got into my feature directorial debut. It’s a drama called Where We Belong about estranged gay brothers struggling to reconnect after the recent death of their father. It’s set in a small town in central California and explores this unique dynamic that the brothers share – growing up together, both gay, with a homophobic, single Dad. They ended up on two wildly different paths. The elder stayed home and helped Dad run the local hardware store. The younger left at 18 and never looked back.
I’ve always been fascinated by sibling dynamics. There’s a bond, a deep knowing we share with our brother or sister, even when our relationship is strained. We lived a life with them, shaped by the same forces. They are perhaps our biggest mirrors… for better or worse.

I’m fundraising until May 22nd then I go back out to shoot the rest.
Wade, the trailer is fantastic. Absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to see this movie. I made a donation and I’m going to tell all my friends! Great work.
